Overview

Six days with G Adventures, moving from Kotor's Old Town into the Durmitor highlands and finishing on the Budva coast. The trip runs with a group of 12 to 16 travellers, guided in English, and is open to ages 18 and above, which shapes the social feel of it. Accommodation throughout is in hostels, and the included list covers lodging, a guide, transport between stops, some meals, while flights, insurance and optional extras are not covered.

The first two days stay in Kotor, with an orientation walk on arrival, a fortress walk and a sunset boat tour on the Bay of Kotor that also takes in Perast. Day 3 transfers inland to Željeznjak near Durmitor National Park, with a hike to Crno Jezero, the Black Lake, included and mountain biking available at extra cost. Day 4 continues south with a stop at Ostrog Monastery before settling in Budva, where the final days bring an Old Town walk, a group night out and a menu of optional water-based add-ons such as kayaking, SUP rental or a catamaran cruise to the Blue Cave.

It suits reasonably active travellers in their late teens upward who want mountains and coast in one trip and are happy with hostel lodging and a group pace.

What To Expect From The Tour

The listing gives a clear picture of what this trip involves, from hostel beds to the mix of included hikes and paid add-ons.

Common issues. The main practical limits come straight from the listing. Accommodation is hostel-based throughout and subject to change, which will not suit travellers wanting hotel privacy. Flights, insurance, most meals and all optional activities, such as the 50 EUR mountain biking, are extra, so the headline price understates likely spending. The trip is restricted to ages 18 and above and involves hikes, so it is not built for families with young children or anyone who struggles on foot.

Which Tour Fits Your Trip

What is included in the price?

Accommodation, a guide, transport between stops, some meals and additional services are included. Breakfast is provided daily, with dinner added on Day 3. Flights, insurance and optional activities are not included.

Do I have to pay extra for activities like the Blue Cave cruise?

Yes. The catamaran cruise with the Blue Cave, SUP and kayak rental and mountain biking in Durmitor are optional activities at extra cost. Mountain biking is listed at 50 EUR per person. The fortress walk, bay boat tour, Crno Jezero hike and Ostrog Monastery visit are all included.

Where does the tour start and end?

It starts in Kotor on Day 1 with a group meeting and an orientation walk of the Old Town. It ends in Budva on Day 6, which is the departure day after breakfast.

Is this trip suitable for children or older travellers?

The listing restricts the tour to ages 18 and above, so children cannot book. It is a group of 12 to 16 people and includes hikes to Kotor Fortress and Crno Jezero, so a reasonable level of mobility and fitness helps.

What is the accommodation like?

All nights are in hostels: Old Town Kotor Hostel, Hostel Highlander and Hostel Budva. The listing states that accommodations are subject to change, so treat the names as indicative rather than guaranteed.

When does the tour run and how do I see dates?

The tour is booked through a booking page that shows departure dates and prices by month. Check the live listing for available departures before planning flights, since flights and insurance are booked separately.
